It took several times reading this but I think I got the answer. If you are trying to engage the clutch with the throw out bearing by hand and not the lever (on the cover) you will never get it to engage this way. I would put it back together with the new disks in it and the shims you had in it, Tighten it up with the throw out bearing fully released and bolt the cover back on and hook the lever back up and try it and see how hard it takes for it to brake over center (about 40 lbs of pull). If its too hard you need to add shims till you get that nice snap in the brake over. It is all trial and error. The can be a pain in the butt taking it on and off to get them right but its the only way to do it. Bandit
