Only thing I'd be leary of on the 1555 is availability of some used parts that definately aren't available new. My 1550 is a late one. Has more in common with the 1555 than the early 1550. I broke a shift rod in it a few years ago and thought I was going to have to have one made. I called almost every place I knew. Finally called Owosso Tractor Parts and they had a 1555 that they hadn't torn down yet. Took a few days for them to get it apart, but they had it. Don't know where I would have found one if they hadn't had it. It might have been the last one on the face of the earth. I'd think parted out 1650-1655-White 2-70s might be more common.
