The 550 had a special light housing and bulb facing rear. There was a switch on the lamp housing that turned either the white sealed beam on for field work or switched to a 1156 bulb that shown through a little red window in the sealed beam for a rear red tail light. I think the bulb was a 4610X I bought a few of these special bulbs 10 or 12 years ago. I even spoke with the engineer who held the patent on it.
