well it was your dads so it may have sentimental value to you and it would be something way cool to pass on to your kids. are you able to do a bit of work to it and see if it will start up? is it a gasoline or diesel model? can you remove the spark plugs (one at a time so they dont get mixed up) and shoot some penitrating oil down the cylenders (acatone and auto transmission fluid) check the fluids out oil & antifreeze add some fresh fuel and a battery and see if the old girl will fire up. lots of times the carb gets gummed up with the old gas that has dried out.it could take a bit of messing around but its not too hard to work on the older tractors the best friend you have is your tech manual get one for your rig it will tell you all you ned to know
