I put a new hyd pump in our 1950gm years ago and the gears on the pump "stood" on top of the gears in the trans instead of meshing. As I tightened up the housing bolts I noticed the front ones pulling the housing down instead of it dropping flat. I was in too much of a hurry and kept tightening down bolts and then fired up the tractor and ran it down the road. I learned the hard way, but got it fixed the right way after realizing my expensive mistake.
