They all need to be clean and tight, no paint, rust, etc.

If you want to eliminate the solenoid as the problem, you can

jumper the two big terminals together with jumper cables.

Make sure you have it in neutral if you do that as you bypass

the neutral safety switch. Starter will/should spin instantly.

You can jump directly to the starter with a 12V battery if

need be, but not to the 6 volt battery.

Again, make sure you have it in neutral.

12V battery Black jumper cable to starter stud and battery.

Red jumper cable to battery then touch to frame.

Again, starter will/should spin instantly. (hence the neutral warning)

Let us know what you find.
