I've heard comments here about how bad currently available ignition switches are. Are there any good ones? Would a marine one be better than a tractor one? The tractor ones I see all seem to be offshore, but then maybe TSC isn't the best place to look.
BTW, these switches can do weird things. The existing one on my 8n is a universal one, with an accessory position, wired for some unknown reason so there are two On positions with OFF in the center. If I put it in either ON position and try to start it, and it doesn't fire ( which is often won't), switching it to the other ON position will always get it to fire. And once it fires it will run in either ON position. I attribute this to high, and every changing, resistance in the switch, so it is acting as a 2nd (or is it 3rd?) resistor.
