Good morning. I am now working on the spindle assembly for our New Holland 930B finish mower. Apparently I was not as efficient (as I would like to think I am!!) with lubrication intervals, and the bearings went bad in one of the spindles. The housing and shaft appear to be still good, but I will need to replace the bearings and seals.
The bearings (NH p/n 144684 superceeded by #83990517) appear a standard part and are available (New Holland or thru several sources....p/n #30205).
However, the seals (NH p/n #AUB144689) show as "No Longer Stocked" and only available as part of a complete spindle assembly ($300!!). There is no visible number on the part. Does anyone know of a cross reference for this part #? Is it likely there is a standard off the shelf part that would match?
This is a 72' finish mower that has 3 blades (and 3 spindles!!) And I would hate to think I could not rebuild these units with $40 worth of parts and would need to replace the entire unit. As always, any suggestions would be appreciated.
