Ok, I would suspect if start up and rev-up are the same I would replace the gauge, cheap and will tell you if it may be a weak oil pump. As for blow-by every engine has some and is subjective as to how much you have. Just watch it and you will see some,if it looks like a sketter fogger its not,but not a death sentence either. I had it real bad on a N and I cut it down by 75% with a transmission fluid soak. First get a new gauge it may tell us the whole story as lets not drop the pan and fix whats not broken. Post back what you get. 80 on a dry compression check is NOT bad as 90 to 125 is normal. At this time let do simple. Theres a lot of top notch folks on this site and can save ya time and money.
