i dont think they are endangered any where, and theres more of them around than most folks think. also im pretty sure theres depredation laws still in effect in most states. back when i was calling coyotes a lot i would call in about as many bobcats as coyotes.your 12 gauge with no 2 or four shot makes a good bobcat load if they are close. call your game dept for info. trapping will work ,but youll be losing chickens until it does. one trick if your using a live trap, get the biggest one you can find. block off the back of it with wire, and use a small live chicken for bait. or take a cage and wire it to the back. bobcats will readily go in a hole if you cover the trap and cage with brush.
