Used a spark plug with a 1/4" gap laid plug on the block and got a nice bright sharp white / blue spark. Tried starting fluid in the carb opening, no go. Then tried holding hand over carb opening to check for vacuum, string vacuum. After another shot of starting fluid and by adjusting my hand over the carb intake, I go it to fire and run. Let it run for awhile and then shut it down. Decided to check the condition of the oil bath air cleaner. To my surprise somehow condensation or water got in and the bottom of the oil bath was filler with a light brown slush! Cleaned out the cup and applied some heat from a lamp to the rest of the cleaner to melt out the rest of the slush. What grade oil do you run in your air cleaner during the winter. I have been running straight 30w year round. Thinking of running a paper filter during the winter and then switching back to the oil bath for spring through fall.
