Have you messed up the hole in the jet? Usually you just break off one side and the hole is OK. If that is the case. Clean it up the best you can - run a soft wire through all the passages and blow them out with compressed air. Then give it try. Might work, might not.
The other option is to give GB in MT a shot at it. His work on old M/S carbs is phenomenal. I'm sure Gary will be along shortly.
