Well first off you can't rebuild one unless you pull the pan off, theres no way to remove the pistons other wise. As far as time you can have an N series engine opened up in about 2-3 hours and then back in in about the same time, but the machine shop work is not that fast. cost wise your looking at around $500 for a kit and then another $200-300 machine shop work so your total can be from around $700-1500 depending on how bad off it is, but figure it this way a total rebuild done as it should be done will last you 30 plus years if you take care of it
