It sounds like you may still have a little crud in the carburetor. Have you tried enriching the mixture part of a turn, and, if so, does it run better, or start to flood? If necessary, I would go back into the carburetor, and clean it again. Unless there is something actually broken beyond fixing on the carburetor, you're better off fixing it, rather than replacing it with a (likely offshore made) new one. Also, if the centrifugal spark advance mechanism in the distributor is worn and sloppy, it can cause rough running issues that come and go.
