Sounder..........page 2273 of www.McMaster-Carr online catalog is a full page of tap drill sizes and drill sizes chart. machine screw, SAE fine thread, USS coarse thread, Metric threads. numerical drills, letter drills, wire-gauge drills and metric drills and decimal equivalents. I printed off a copy and refer to it all the time. For a 1/4-28 (fine) use #3 wire drill (0.2130") For a 6mm-1mm thread, use #10 wire drill (0.1935) or 5mm drill (0.1968") 6mm = 0.2362" Most likely, yer ferrin spredder is METRIC........Dell
