Hi Popster. I use the boom to raise the 5' King Kutter and turn it over, then take the blades off and grind them. I weigh them both to assure they are equal. Mine weigh about 10 pounds each. I believe it's important to equalize them, thereby keeping the unit in balance. It's no big problem taking them off, especially if you do this on regular basis. Good time to clean the unit up and grease all the fittings. Good luck and safe tractoring. Ron
