Don't get yer rope hooked up quite yet, Bill. When you say it dies below 5/8 throttle, how does it die? Does it shut off suddenly and completely, gradually loose power, spit and sputter, backfire, afterfire, or what? When it is running at advance throttle, how does it run? Good power? Smooth? Does the governor work here? Does pulling the choke out help? What about that carb? Has it been cleaned, adjusted? Could be the coil, ignition switch. C'mon back after a compression test. Be sure to have wet and dry #s and hold the throttle open when making the test. ray
