As far as fuel goes... I have a G 707, and used to have a MF 1105 - same engine as the 2705. I used to run them both on a Gehl feed mill. The MM would burn half the fuel. The Massey would fall flat on its face under a heavy load... The 707 you could run the infeed chute over and it would just sit there and lug. Pretty good considering there was a difference of about 40 HP at PTO speed.
A 2705 has open center hydraulics, and they are not very good at best. It would be a nicer tractor to use for regular fieldwork, but are known for trans problems. The smaller ones like the 2705 were better than the bigger tractors. I currently have a MF 2805, now that is the definition of a fuel pig!
