mightymolinekid, The wrenches to torque down the head bolts still exists. Last year I contacted the OEM manufacturer and asked for a quote on getting a run of them made.
I was told that the wrenches could not be made for me because AGCO still supplied them to dealers and would not release the tooling for open sale. A similar wrench is also still being made for Deere. The Deere wrench is just slightly shorter.
I gave this information to an AGCO dealer. The AGCO dealer was ordering his needed wrenches from his local Deere dealer. The last I heard; the AGCO dealer was going to have an intensive talk with his AGCO rep. That is the last I heard of the subject.
Getting these wrenches made would be a snap, if I went overseas. The Asian companys will make whatever you want with reasonable tooling costs. Going to a domestic company to get specialized tooling is darn near impossible. The biggest problem is that there is really only one custom tool company in America. Robinair, SPX, Kent Moore, OTC, and several dozen other companys are now just one company. If someone would point me to a company in the USA, or Canada, that wanted to make some wrenches; the problem of getting special MM tooling would be a memory.
I personally use two torque adapters and a six inch extension bar to do the deed on those times when I want to torque the heads of an engine in service.
