On Saturday I and my brother made a 450 mile round trip
to central Kansas...On the way out we stopped at North 81
Salvage near Wichita and got a part for my GVI MM..

Our purpose for the trip was to haul home a 1940 UTU
MM..It was a very warm day with the temp being 72...Going
out it was very windy in eastern KS but the wind died down
in central KS...Going home with a load on was actually
easier than going out empty..

I have the remains of a 1939 UTU MM purchased in Kansas
in 1981..Its going to come in handy for a few parts such as
a PTO,belt pulley drive,rear rim,etc.

1-- The UTU just after loading it in Kansas.

2--The UTU safely home in MO..Thats a 36" tire under the
tractor..Theres a pair of nice 12.4x38's on the rear of the
trailer..

3--I bought the tractor with no side shields but was
pleasantly surprised when the owner dug some out..

4--The tractor had been converted to electric start many
years ago..I love the generator tightner..It has later model
manifolds..

5--Old Dauer Brothers sign from Falun,KS..My Dad grew up
on a farm 4 miles SW of Falun..In 1929 Grandpa bought a
new 22-36 McCormick there..Around 1939-40 Dad got a
new M Farmall there...They were a huge dealer that lasted
until the Case-IH merger..

Today's Featured Article - Trailering Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. One of the fun things of summer and fall are the parades and tractor shows that go on across America. Many owners of tractors travel long distances to attend these shows and they usually take their restored iron along with them. Safe trailering practices and inspections will ensure that the event is a fun one. A good habit to develop when using a trailer is to give that ‘quick look over’ before taking it on a trip.
