About 1960-61 when I was 11-12 years old Dad went to visit his old army buddy...His name was Oliver Haag and he farmed 700-800 acres of nice ground at the SE edge of Salina,KS..He never married and I remember that he had acres of old tractors, combines, vehicles, and machinery..My Dad grew up on a large farm 15 miles SW of Salina at Falun,KS..
Anyways Oliver took us out to see his one year old GVI MM diesel..At that time that was about the biggest tractor I had ever sat on...The hood looked a mile long..Oliver was very proud of the GVI and said that it had pulled the hitch completely off his 5x14 Cockshutt plow..His ground plowed pretty hard and he claimed the GVI did just fine.
Back in the late 1960"s a farmer 7 miles southwest of me got a GVI MM LP out of Kansas..He either pulled 4x16"s or 5x14"s in fairly easy plowing soil..I know that he put duals on it when he disked..His other tractor was a MM M-670 gas that he got new..
