I purchased a 101 junior last year. I am having ignition issues (doesn’t look like there is spark). I believe either I have burned up the points or the coil went bad on me. So I’m going to replace the coil, points, plugs and wires tonight (the cap is new). The tractor came to me with a 12 volt battery, 12 volt coil, but still has points and no charging system. My plan is to compete in the local antique tractor pull just for fun. What does everyone suggest I do about the ignition system, should I put a 6 volt coil and battery in, or should I purchase a 12 volt conversion kit and get an electronic distributor? Also if someone could supply a link to a reputable 12 volt conversion kit that would be great. Any help would be greatly apprenticed.
