Anyone know have some insight on the sickle head bushing for a MF 725 mower conditioner? When I priced the bushing online (part #683458m1, which replaced part #!-920-229), prices range from about $95 to $130 per unit. I've found one locally for $110.
A similar bushing for New Holland mower conditioner runs about $14 to $20 per unit. The NH bushing is just a little too big, when I put the caliper on it to check measurements on the outside diameter to use it without taking a chance on busting the sickle head when I press it in. It's also just a little shorter in length than the AgCo part.
Isn't the MF 725 the same as a Gehl and a Hesston mower conditioner? If so, does anyone have a part number and specs on either of the latter two to compare prices to use one of those, instead of the high prices AgCo part? I seem to recall that Gehl, Hesston and Massey are, basically, the same machine. So, I figure either Gehl or Hesston actually manufactured the parts.
The old bushing we pressed out of the sickle head was stamped as being made by or for Lords, a motion industry that deals with bushings.
