On my 55 Diesel, I put brushes and brushes holder from a Delco Remy 37MT.
They need some adaptation. Basically, you need to made a new plate to hold the brush holder, or drill some others holes in the existing one to get all the brushes centered. On the autolite, the holes were the brush holder are riveted to the rear plate are not centered on the brush.
Those brushes are slightly shorter, but this doesn't matter. Then I have cut the hold brushes wires and connect them to the brush holders of the Delco.
Also, you will need to "worn" the new brushes a little bit because the rotor diameter is not the same.
