Helping a friend work on his MF 50. Got the generator to put out by providing a path for the current in the field winding to go to ground.
Now here is where I"m running in to a problem. Person claims he has a MF 50. YT shows MF 50 having alternators, not gennerators. His genny has a place to connect the tac cable.
The voltage regulator Rural King sells has just 2 coils. His voltage reg has 3 coils.
There are no numbers on his voltage reg to identify it. It is a delco regulator. The top coil appears to be the voltage coil that should provide ground for the field winding, which it isn"t doing.
Where are the serial # located so I can look up the year and actual model. He says it has a 134 engine and is a MF 50. I"m wondering if it couldn"t have a MF 35, which there are voltage regulators for gennys and alternators.
So, did they put gennies on MF50? Where are the serial #?
