Some of those Mannheim Germany built JD's had a standard front axle & an optional HD unit for loaders.Looks like a pin, casting or axle failure. The loader is after market & may have more lift capacity than the one's JD speced for that 1840? The lift capacity with large diameter cylinders lifting the boom past the front axle would be enormous. And required with the funky grapple bucket loaded & hung so far infront. The weight of the tractor cab & likely loaded tires prevented the rear from rising & limiting loader lift. Successive loading into a metals yield strength region will eventually cause fatigue breaks at much less than the normal failure pressure. This tractor has been beaten from between 19 to 25 years. By the way junior, this site is way too mature to fall for a colour war with such a cheap shot from the dark.
