Jim, not all DLTX carbs have bowl vent baffles & of those that do most use 2 at right angles to each other. Their basic function is to keep fuel from sloshing into the bowl vent under hard bumps & jolts. I doubt you would even know they were missing but would definitely know if they were plugged with dirt or rust as the carb wouldn't meter correctly due to lack of atmospheric pressure on the fuel in the float bowl. If you need a more detailed description on how the bowl vent in a DLTX carb works & effects metering E-Mail me & when I get a chance I will try to explain it in more detail.
