Good morning everyone. I"ve been volunteered to help a friend fix the brakes on his 5103. The consensus from the dealer mechanics are that the final drives need to come off to change the brakes and their springs. I"ve never pulled finals on a John Deere and I can"t find an diagrams on the internet that show how everything goes together. My question is, when I pull all the bolts out of the final drive/axle housing, will the axle and final all come out as one unit or are there C clips or something like that in the differential that hold the axles in requiring us to pull the pto out to get to them? Thanks in advance for any help you folks might be able to share.
