It was designed to pull the 2 cyl tractor hand clutch back when hitting an obstruction in the field, such as a large unmovable rock or maybe a stump left over from clearing land . There is a CAST 3" wheel a small chain about 4 ft long and several other pieces missing that correctly attach this plow to a tractor, especially a 2 cyl JD.The pin or bolt you show in the plow hitch jaw was to have a bolt and nut for attaching to a clevis or the tractor draw bar it self. Advertise for the correct parts if you feel you would like to have them and fellows on this site will respond having the needed items for sale. This type plow hitch was never intended to come unhitched from the tractor while in operation.
