I like Maple hunter too - though I didn't deal with whoever's in texas which deals with JD - they sent me to somebody else (still maple hunter) for farmall decals.
I needed decals for a 48 farmall super A which had a slightly different decal than older and later models.
Virtually EVERY decal provider I spoke with had no idea what I was talking about, and some tried telling me I was flat out wrong. (despite the fact that I had the old hood to prove I was right). I looked at a LOT of restored tractors and saw that everybody else used the incorrect decals, probably because that's all they could find.
I was ready to give in too, but made one last attempt and talked to somebody at maple hunter. Not only did they KNOW what I was talking about - they HAD exactly what I needed in stock.
I thought they were just not listening to my question and grilled the poor person for 5 minutes to be sure it was the right one.
Sure enough - the proper decals are now on the tractor.
Only dealt with them that once, but if they care enough to make a decal for an oddball, small run of tractors like that - that's reason enough for me to go back to them next time.
