I took the feeder house off plus the trap doors plus the concave adjuster assembly out and was able to walk out the auger pan. My upper fan housing was slightly off but was able to reuse. I do have a couple of bent fan paddles but they can be straightened in the press. I did not try to put the pan in with the rubber belting plus the guides that bolt to the back already on as I was worried about clearing the shaft with the shaker arms. I wished that I did try it as it was a pain to crawl in the chaeffer assembly to bolt them on. I will admit I cheated and cut a teeny corner on both sides of the lower pan front to help clear the cast frame supports because I was forced to work alone that day and did not have somebody to lift on one side as I would lift the other. Also, the concave adjuster assembly was frozen to the square cross shaft but plenty of heating with the oxy-acetylene helped free them up. I did not have to remove the walkers to do any of the work plus tipping the rear of the back auger pan allowed the augers to come out. I had some other things that had to be done such as a new tailings elevator, converting over to RWA, and bearings for the auger supply system to change. I have got at least 80 hours in this but it is nearly finished as beans are starting to become ready here. I looked for another 20 series combine (as I already have the heads) and just did not see anything I liked. I have 30.5 X32's on there now and did not want to go smaller plus a lot were two wheel drive. I replaced in the last couple years the right final drive. I also have a solid motor in mine. A lot of the used machines out there have less than fancy repaints so a matter of what I have and know trumped the unknown. Maybe I will try again in a couple of years.
