Well I have had a couple 4430's and still use one for spraying and haybine. I have had two 466 engines one in a 7720 and another in a 4450. The only thing I truly noticed with the 466 is that my fuel barrel empties faster keeping fresher fuel on the farm. Running a large rd baler with stock 4430 synchro took 4.5 gal/hr. 4430 with intercooler and running 160+ would run the same baler for 3.5 gal/hr. 4450 stock would use 6 gal/hr. This past year we had the turbo speeded up and installed an intercooler on the 4450 and that dropped the fuel to the 4 gal/hr range. I seen a 40% increase on the combine fuel costs when we went from the 404 to 466. The newer engine does start easier if the 404 hasn't been updated with new style pistons.
