The best way to check if the float has a hole in it is to take it out, and submerge it in a pot of HOT water. if you see bubbles coming from it, there is a hole. it no bubbles the float is fine. Easy trouble shooting. the ONLY way to properly rebuild a TSX carb is to remove the fuel nozzle. it has orfices drilled in it that plug and with out them cleaned out the tractor will never run properly. I have had to drill the nozzles out because the screw driver slot has become stripped over the years. this is very time consuming but well worth the effort. A new nozzle is about 40 bucks. just be carefull not to drill into the cast threads. Also install a new throttle shaft as the old ones get wore. Get a full rebuild kit, the shaft is included. Good luck. and when you get that carb rebuilt properly your tractor will run like never before. Remember, the best carb rebuild is to start with a clean gas tank. because dirt in your carb is the worst enemy and a visious circle
