Have John Deere 2150 with 4,994 hrs started over heating last week cutting hay. Never had a problem in the past few years since I have owned it for hay work. The coolant/water was changed this winter. Raditor was blown out, and screens before going to field. Coolant level was full. Belt also tight to 1/4 " deflection or less. It started going to the red and I stopped to check out all, no problems. Also noticed while going to field that it seemed to run a little higher temp than normally. Usually ran about a 1/4 of green to a 1/3 all the time. When i stopped I opened cap to release pressure and coolant/water came out under extreme pressure. Filled with water and coolant and slowed down a little and she ran 2/3 the way or more to the red. Would you think the thermostat could be a problem or raditor needs rotted out? Haven't checked flow yet.
