I am in the process of going through the clutch pack, brake, springs, bearings and seals on my engine driven PTO powershaft. All these parts are new.
Once I tighten the 3 bolts that attach the shims and PTO brake plate to the housing per the JD service manual there is absolutely no way of turning either shaft. I know the new springs are supposed to give 700 lbs of down force which is a lot but have not done one of these before, should you be able to turn shafts and is this normal or have I missed something?
I still have to make the adjustment to the cam and cltches, but wanted to get some experienced opinions before buttoning up everything and giving me peace of mind knowing that I got it right! As always, I appreciate any and all replies or advice. Thank you! Gordon
