I think you made a good choice. The 15 speed powershift is a wonderful transmission for all applications and the engine in the 55 series has a lot going for it in terms of cold weather starting, torque, governor response, and fuel usage. There is nothing wrong with the 4450 with the quad range, but the step up to the 55 series, in my opinion, is a much greater refinement in these tractors. I like our quad range in our 40 series, and it is fine for field work. The 8 speed powershift was also nice for on the go shifting over wide speed ranges in our 30 series, but the gaps between the upper range of gears were pretty big. I find our 60 series with the 15 speed powershift a joy to operate with an even better cab as compared to earlier models. The engine is very snappy and quick to respond to varying loads. Nothing wrong with the 40 or 50 series, but there are marked improvements with each newer succession in the line.
