Larry, In my opinion these were a pretty good tractor. I can speak from both the user and repair side of the fence. My Dad owned two of these with cabs brand new. I really didn’t think he would like them when he got the first one, next thing I know he bought another one. Didn't have any problems. He used mostly for livestock operation pulling wagons and farm chores. Light field work. Very fuel efficient. Not the horror story a 2840 was. 2955 had a TSS transmission and a different charge hydraulic system. The 2955 was similar to the 2940. Both used the proven 359 engine. He later upgraded for two 7210’s.
