I truly appreciate your help and extensive knowledge, textbook and real world. You obviously go(went) to your work for much more than punching a clock and collecting a paycheck. I, as a cranberry farmer, also have that luxury. I haven't been over to the 1020 yet, but should mention the history.

cylinder head cracked on gas engine
bought a boneyard 152 DT 06 from a 350B dozer engine s/n around 249000 thought we'd bolt it in and run the excess fuel line to the gas/diesel tank. tank already has 1/8" pipe plug to take out and plug fuel return line into. it took a little more work to mate the newer diesel to an older 1020. fortunately, boneyard had a 310 backhoe to take some parts from. One of the best things we did was to take the power steering column/housing from our newer 300 industrial and try it on the 1020. worked great. found a used one for $300. threw the p/s pump away and cut a blanking plate for the hole.
From the parts books I've seen the 2405 injection pump is correct.
