I"m with Bob. I very seldom use silicone on a valve cover gasket unless it is a temporary thing. Silicone can make these gaskets slide around if you are not careful. I always use 3M Weatherstrip glue and it works very well. I will use a VERY small amount of silicone on the opposite side of the gasket sometimes but often just coat the gasket with some gun grease to soften it. I install the cover and then retorque later after the gasket has "set". Mike
