i agree with the last post. i put the rtv on the gasket and valve cover and just let it sit long enough to hold the gasket in place while i put it on and then don't overtighten the screws. after i run it a short while i retighten the screws. i use a die grinder with a small wire brush on it to clean the surfaces real good. be sure and wear safety goggles when using a wire brush on anything.
