We bought a 1987 5530 2 years ago and it is a very good baler. Ours had been kept inside and had a 1 year old set of belts on it. Belts can cost 500 or so to replace. Ours had bad rubber on the gathering wheels also. My dad cut the sidewall out of an old tire in kind of a pointed pattern and bolted this the wheel discs with 1/4 inch bolts.Works good. The 5530 makes a 39" wide by up 54" diameter bale and ours has an electric tie on it. Way better than the arm breaking manual tie rope. The 5530 is basically the same baler as the newer 530. They start a roll easily if the hay is not damp or wet and are easy to use. A constant zig-zag weave while baling will make nice even looking bales. We rake two windrows together in a good crop. We roll about 100-150 bales per year. Not a lot but it is well worth the $4,500 we paid for it. email me if you have any questions
