I stopped by the Arts Way booth at the National Farm Machinery Show and finally got an answer on the future of the M&W baler line. I was told that they have two "new" 4 x 4 balers which are aged, and probably aren't salable. At this time there are no plans to begin manufacturing, nor to spin off the product line, since there have been no improvements in years. He also stated that the net wrap was never foolproof and that is almost a prerequisite today. Parts are supposed to be continued to be supplied but last summer I had to wait several weeks for some drive gears on the elevator chain on my 5690. I have a gearbox out on my 1800 and the gears that I need are going to be over $1,100.00. At this point it's find a parts baler only. I would reconsider buying a used baler if it is going to be your primary baler. The sad part is for my operation their isn't a better baler.
