I use to rent a splitter from a worker at work. he would rent it out by the day. I decided to build one so I took a lot of pictures of the splitter I rented. I had a 10hp Tecumseh engine and in 1982 I started on it. I bought a used piece of 4-inch I-beam. Wheels from a boat sales. I had the hyd reservoir made at a local metal shop. I bought the pump and control valve from Northern Hydraulics in MN. The cylinder was bought at the local government sales. It was a steering cylinder off the 8 ton Goer.
