Have most of the parts to get this up and going now. I have 8 insecticide boxes and 4 dry fertilizer which are fiberglass. They are weathered and the glass is shedding. Itches if it gets in the skin and I can see it shedding into the air if I stand upwind and knock on the boxes. I have NOT exposed myself to it so please, no dire warnings to that effect...I know not to breath it in and why.
My question is about stabilizing the material so it is less hazardous. A couple ideas come to mind. One is to paint them and, hopefully, cover the fiberglass so that the fibers do not shed. The second idea was to use the epoxy resin boat builders use to waterproof boats. I am thinking it is normally applied over fiberglass fabric (?). I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on these matters? Don't suppose they made poly replacements for these at any point?
