Premier Products now makes some of the best bungie straps you can get at any price. I'm still using some fully stretched during freezing temps to hold on my tractor chains. Same ones now over 30 years old. When I first mounted the chains in 1982, most of the straps were new Japan made bungies but found by Jan-Feb of the first winter most of the imports were broken or rotten. I live about 5 miles from Braham and stopped last summer to pick up a couple dozen more, asked them if the rubber is still the same, they said that the formula has not been changed. I told them about my good experiance with the straps, they said that is why they haven't changed the formula even though the bungies cost more to make.
