The person that I purchased the JD 4FD deep tillage plow found one set of coulter discs with the original bracket assembly in his junk pile... he thinks that it has been there for at least thirty years! Fortunately for me, because I now have a pattern, I can make the other three coulter bracket assemblies to the same specifications as the originals. The original hub assembly from John Deere is no longer available (picture shown). I found a replacement coulter hub from agrisupply.com (picture shown) that is a four hole hub with a 3/4" shaft. It surely is not the same degree of quality as the John Deere part but it is the only suitable replacement that I could find. Now that I have a pattern, I can move forward.
