The fronts probably were 18" but may have been a 20" blade as they would fit and the 20" blade would do a better job of working the ground but will cost twice as much as the 18" blade. They were avaible with the already wore out 16" blade from factory for the purchaser that did not want to spend the money on a proper sized blade, That disk if the blades are down to 17" they are completely wore out. Had one and it was not a very good cutting disk. Mostly used the smaller McCormick that we could angle the blades on and set at half angle would cut better that the Kewanneat any time. You will wear out 2 sets of blades on front for every set on the back. You should get by for several years with new 18" blades on the front and it will not be long till they are equal to back blades in size.
