David, thank you for the photo and your posts. That part of your mower looks different from any I have seen. This thread is now so far down that perhaps no one will look at it again. Today I found a used model 306 on an implement lot. The discharge chute on it was rather beat-up but clearly showed me how mine should look. The RM59-1 and the 306 chutes are not exactly the same, but have the same general shape. I now grasp the concept. The others who posted probably have mowers that have suffered from the effects of time and rough use- like mine.
