Those old #3 are as good or better than a lot of New Hollands and John Deeres but they don't seem to get any respect. I know a a few dairies that put up a lot of hay with them and for the most part they didn't miss a beat if they had at least marginal care. They last dairy I worked at had been running two Massey #3s, they traded one off for a New Holland (can't remember the model would of been early 1980's) I think the old #3 was putting out more hay with less grief than the new New Holland, the only reason he traded "up" was trying to get into bakers with kickers on them.
