The Chattanooga Plow Co. was aquired by the International Harvester Co. ( don"t know the exact date) sometime back during the horse drawn equip. days.The metal strips instead of the moldboard was called a Slat-Wing for use in heavy clay type soil.The soil would shed off the slat wing better than the solid moldboard.The solid moldboard was better used in sandy type soil.This was what was taught to me many years ago.
